Zhina Modarres Gorji, a Kurdish journalist, women's rights activist, and prisoner, was released from Sanandaj Prison on Monday, September 22, 2025 (Shahrivar 31, 1404), after enduring 16 months of imprisonment, comprising 325 days of confinement and 4 months of temporary detention.
Zhina Modarres Gorji, who has previously been arrested and imprisoned several times on political charges, faced the latest accusations of "forming an illegal group" and "propaganda against the system."
