On International Women's Day, the death sentences and life imprisonment of female political prisoners should be revoked

On the occasion of International Women's Day, congratulating all women in Kurdistan, Iran, and the world, and commemorating the plight of imprisoned and detained women—as stated in the published reports of active human rights centers—dozens of female prisoners have been sentenced to death under various security and political charges and accusations, and hundreds of women under the same titles have faced heavy prison sentences.
In this regard, among the women who have faced the death penalty on charges of political activities, mention can be made of two Kurdish female prisoners named "Worysha Mohammadi" and "Pakhshan Azizi," as well as "Sharifeh Mohammadi," and also the political prisoner sentenced to life imprisonment, "Zeynab Jalalian," who has been in prison for nearly 17 years.
The Human Rights Organization of Kurdistan, while expressing its concern regarding the situation of women sentenced to death, especially Ms. Worysha Mohammadi, Pakhshan Azizi, Sharifeh Mohammadi, and the prisoner sentenced to life imprisonment Zeynab Jalalian, on "International Women's Day," demands a review of the judicial status and the revocation of the death sentences and life imprisonment of the aforementioned individuals and other death-row prisoners.
